Balimela, 28th Oct 2025: A Bhima Bhoi Disability Empowerment Camp was organized today at the Town Hall of Balimela NAC in Malkangiri district.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Pradeep Kumar Nayak, Chairperson of the Balimela NAC, who offered floral tributes to the portrait of Bhima Bhoi. The Chief Guest, District Social Security Officer Mr. Nirmal Dharua, addressed the gathering and briefed them about the objectives and benefits of the camp.
Also present on the dais were Executive Officer Mr. Devi Prasad Dora and Sub-Divisional Social Security Officer Mr. Rajib Pujari.
A total of 95 differently-abled persons registered and underwent medical assessment at the camp. Among them, 18 individuals were examined under the vision impairment category, 18 under the hearing impairment category, 38 under the orthopedic (physical disability) category, 7 under the mental disability category, and 14 under other disability categories.
Specialist doctors were present in each section to conduct the examinations. The team of doctors included Dr. Abid Hussain, Dr. Prafulla Behera, Dr. Shibanand Budha, Dr. Niranjan Kar, and Dr. Niranjan Behera, among others.
The entire event was coordinated and managed by Block Social Security Officer Mr. Rajesh Gauda.
