Rasulpur, 8th Nov 2025: On the occasion of the Kartika Purnima (full moon day) on Wednesday, a Bhagavat Tungi and a Palm-Leaf Manuscript Preservation Center were established near the Mausi Maa Temple in Chaturdhamurti, Bhotka Panchayat, Rasulpur block . This center aims to revive Hindu traditions and culture. The sacred Bhagavat scriptures help guide society morally, and the government is making efforts to promote the development of Bhagavat Tungi in the village.
The Bhagavat Tungi had been neglected for over a century. Under the initiative of the trustee Jagabandhu Sahu, the center was restored. Historically, religious texts were inscribed on palm leaves. These manuscripts contain many important religious details. The manuscripts have now been installed in the newly renovated Bhagavat Tungi and are being worshipped.
The installation ceremony of the idols was conducted under the priestly supervision of Sahu and Jagabandhu Sahu, with a yajna (sacrificial ritual) performed. In the new building, the religious texts and manuscripts were installed, and the idols of Chaturdhamurti were consecrated. The ritual was overseen by Pandit Sanatan Panda, along with five Brahmin priests managing the ceremonies. The yajna concluded with Purnahuti (final offering).
Arrangements were made for prasad distribution to devotees during the noon, and in the evening, a celebration with aarti and naam sankirtan (devotional singing) was held. Local villagers participated in the ceremonies, received prasad, and sought blessings from the deities.
This center is officially recognized as a registered institution. Government funding for publicity and promotion could further enhance the center. To secure funds for the restoration, the district and block administration have repeatedly submitted requests. However, as no administrative action has been taken so far, people have expressed frustration and dissatisfaction.
