Belguntha: A memorial ceremony was held on the 12th death anniversary of the renowned social worker, late Ganapati Nayak, at the Gobora Vishwabharati Residential School in Nuapada village of the Belguntha block. Many prominent individuals attended the ceremony to pay their respects and share memories of the late Nayak.
The ceremony was attended by former Sorada MLA Purnachandra Swain, Chairman of Asika Sugar Factory Ravindra Panda, former Gangpur Sarpanch Surendra Dakua, Sarpanch of Khatriyabarapur Kamala Kumari Pradhan, former Netenga Sarpanch Prahlad Lenka, Teacher Divya Lochan Biswal, former BDA Chairman Subash Maharana, social workers Muna Mahanti, Ramkrishna Patra, Haribandhu Lenka, Surendra Das, President of Belguntha Press Club Pradyumna Patra, Editor Ashwini Mahanti, senior journalist Santosh Bishoyi, former President Santosh Kumar Biswal, former President Surjakanta Mahanti, former President Krittabas Biswal, former Sarpanch Rajendra Gauda, senior lawyer and prominent Ghumusar district movement leader Somnath Nayak, committee member of Gobora Bibhupad Jena, literary figure Gopal Chandra Lenka, lawyer Santosh Swain, and Director of Aska Central Co-operative Bank Sumanu Bishoyi.
Ganapati Nayak’s son, along with his family members including Kunjabihari Nayak, Kedarnath Nayak, Bipin Bihari Nayak, and his daughter-in-law Jwai Nayak, played a key role in organizing the event. Over three thousand people attended the program, during which they praised the qualities and contributions of the late social worker, Ganapati Nayak.
