Banki,13th Aug 2025: On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan and the birth anniversary of Lord Balabhadra, members of the Rani Shukadei Mahila Samiti and environmentalists tied rakhis to trees to create awareness about plantation.
The event was held at the premises of Similipura High School under Rajapur in Harirajpur, Dampada Block, where rakhis were tied to trees as part of the awareness drive. The programme was inaugurated by environmentalist Professor Manoj Kumar Mahapatra, who said, “Trees are life, and on this holy day, by accepting trees as brothers and tying them rakhis, we can keep our environment green and beautiful.”
The programme was organised under the supervision of Rani Shukadei Mahila Samiti President Pratilata Giri. Participants included Dr. Ganeshwar Swain, Akshaya Kumar Samal, Bishwaranjan Swain, Headmistress Dr. Jayantibala Jena, Sujata Singh, Pratima Nayak, Shashibhushan Tripathy, Tulasi Swain, Meenakshi Maharana, Prabhati Behera, Sunita Pradhan, Sangita Behera, Dulana Behera, Radharani Mantri, Basanti Mantri, Sabita Behera, Kavita Raut, among others. They tied rakhis to various trees during the event.
