Konark: The famous Shaivite shrine of Baba Balikapileswar Mahadev, located in the Konark-Belamal route of the district, is preparing for the sacred Maha Shivaratri Jagara Yatra. A coordination meeting was held on Monday afternoon to finalize the arrangements. Under the leadership of the Sub-Collector Rajkishore Jena, the first such meeting was organized this year by the Puri district administration. The meeting focused on addressing issues related to road repairs, traffic management, and ensuring the safety and smooth conduct of the event. Thousands of devotees are expected to visit the temple for darshan, with many staying awake throughout the night to light the Jagara lamps.
To ensure order and discipline, the police, fire services, health services, and water supply units are working together. Discussions also took place about the market stalls, vendors, and other logistical requirements for the event. The service organization, management committee, and local villagers are all involved in coordinating the activities, and proposals were made for efficient execution. The local administration, along with representatives from the Tarakor and Sutan Panchayat, are collaborating on how to manage the event effectively.
