Nabarangpur, 8th Oct 2025: A review meeting was held at the District Collector’s office conference hall under the chairmanship of Nabarangpur Lok Sabha MP Balabhadra Majhi. The meeting included various departmental officers. Present at the meeting were MLA Gauri Shankar Majhi, MLA Jharigaon Narsingh Bhatara, District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain, Additional District Collector Bishwajit Barman, Chief Development Officer and District Council member Biranchi Narayan Darowan, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Prakash Mishra, DFO Shubhendu Prasad Behera, among others.
The District Collector welcomed everyone at the beginning. MP Balabhadra Majhi gave special importance to reviewing various schemes related to education, health, social security, road construction, public supply and distribution, labor, drinking water and water supply, animal resources, fisheries, agriculture, livelihood missions, horticulture, forest department, telecom, NH bypass, pensions, and railway departments. He emphasized assessing their successful implementation, questioned issues, and stressed working with proper planning and efficiency.
He directed the departments to prepare actionable plans, take necessary steps to complete pending works, and submit PPT documentation quickly.
Regarding the education department, he raised concerns about staff shortages, toilets, electrification, and water arrangements. He also emphasized providing residential facilities for teachers in remote areas along with schools.
Special attention was given to fish farming in the district. Ten interested fish farmers were to be identified and sent to the Bar Banki location in Uttar Pradesh for training, as instructed to the District Fisheries Officer.
The labor department was instructed to prevent child labor, conduct investigations according to labor laws, assist beneficiaries, and focus on eliminating middlemen in labor recruitment.
The CMO was questioned on the health department’s infrastructure and health services.
Additionally, MP Majhi arranged for online consultations and cooperation between officers of agriculture, animal husbandry, horticulture, and fisheries departments with directors of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research for better coordination and effective implementation of schemes.
