Baipariguda, Nov 29: A block-level fair was organized by the Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Department at the Animal Hospital in Baipariguda, Koraput district, on Saturday. The fair included exhibitions from fisheries, livestock, and other departmental sectors, discussion sessions with farmer experts, and awareness programs. More than 400 farmers participated in the fair.
Guests honored select farmers during the event. Participants included the Fisheries Department, Animal Husbandry Department, Harsha Trust, Mission Shakti, and the Horticulture Department. A total of 12 exhibition stalls were set up at the fair.
Distinguished guests included Koraput MLA Raghuram Machh, Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhatra, Block Chairman Prashant Gupta, Block Vice-Chairperson Purnima Barik, Zilla Parishad members Mani Jani and Rajesh Mahuria. The District Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Lakshmidhar Behera, District Fisheries Officer Sagar Kumar Ram, and Video Officer Shakti Mahapatra also participated.
On this occasion, four farmers from the Animal Husbandry Department, three farmers from the Fisheries Department, and one self-help group were honored. Those recognized included Sannyasi Parja, Tipu Dhal, Parshuram Pradhani, Sharmila Rath, Laxman Nayak, Ramchandra Barik, and the self-help group Ma’ Shivani, represented by Kamal Lochan Gauda.
