Cuttack, Feb 23: The Badhur Asia Cup T20 tournament began today at Barabati Stadium. In the उद्घopening match, India secured a 4-wicket victory.
The visiting Sri Lanka national cricket team batted first and scored 132 runs in 18.4 overs. Hashitha Prasanna was the top scorer with 28 runs. Pranil More took 3 wickets, while Odia player Shibun Nanda claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, India national cricket team chased down the target in 18.5 overs, losing 6 wickets. Sai Akash scored 35 runs and Santosh Kumar Mohapatra added 28. Sai Akash was named Player of the Match.
India will face Nepal national cricket team in the second match on Friday.
During the opening ceremony, Rishi Pathania, Vice President of Jindal Steel Limited, attended as the chief guest. Other distinguished guests included Sumit Jain, President of Odisha Cricket Association (ADCA), Roma Balwani, CEO of IDCA, Jayant Kumar Mohanty, CSR Head of Jindal Foundation, Shailesh Ray, senior official of Tata Motors, and Bankim Mohanty, Secretary of Aska School of Management.
