Malkangiri: The famous Bada Yatra festival of Malkangiri district has come to an end. After two days of rituals and worship at the Maa Mauli temple in Mandiabhata, the four deities have returned. The three deities and Maa Mutyalaksha will return to Malkangiri again after two years.
For the past three days, thousands of devotees from four states gathered in Malkangiri to witness and seek blessings from the deities. Many devotees who had made vows to the goddess offered sacrifices as a mark of their devotion. Despite the administration’s ban on animal sacrifices, some devotees fulfilled their vows by offering sacrifices in front of the deities.
