B.Ed Trainees Launch “Let’s Go to School” Campaign in Koraput

Koraput, 14th Nov 2025:  On the occasion of National Education Day, the trainee teachers from the Department of Teacher Education, Berhampur University, who are undergoing internship at U.K.P. High School, Jeypore, organized a special survey and awareness campaign titled “Let’s Go to School.”

The program, conducted by the second-year B.Ed trainees, aimed to bring back students who were irregular or had dropped out of school. As part of the campaign, the trainees visited households, interacted with parents, and discussed the reasons behind their children’s irregular attendance. They also emphasized the importance of attending school daily.

Parents expressed happiness about this initiative and assured that they would ensure their children attended school regularly.

The campaign saw active participation from Headmistress Mrs. Dharitri Maharana, Mrs. Murchana Chinhapa, Mr. Purnachandra Chaudhury, Mrs. Seema Jayadhar, Mr. Tapas Bishoi, Mrs. Sambitrekha Jena, and Mrs. Megharani Paul, among others.

The program was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Manoranjan Pradhan, Head of the Department of B.Ed., Mr. Lokesh Pradhan, Assistant Professor, and Dr. Narendra Maharana, along with other faculty members from Berhampur University.

The main objective of this survey was to identify and reach out to students who were not attending school regularly. During their visits, the trainee teachers held discussions with both students and their parents, collecting information about the major causes of absenteeism.

Through this dialogue, many parents and students pledged to attend school regularly. The campaign played a significant role in raising educational awareness and in strengthening the relationship between schools and students.
