Awareness Programme on the Occasion of National Girl Child Week Nabarangpur,

Nabarangpur, Jan 27:   On the occasion of National Girl Child Week, observed from January 18 to 24, an awareness rally was organized in Nabarangpur town jointly by the District Administration, District Social Welfare Department, and the District Child Protection Unit.

District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain flagged off the rally. Under the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Draupadi Kahnra, students of Nabarangpur Nursing College and Vidyarthi Nursing College participated in the rally, which concluded at the Block Office.

On this occasion, a meeting was held at the Block Office premises. BDO Sunil Kumar Khara, District Child Protection Officer Suresh Pattnaik, social worker Manorama Majhi, District Women Protection Officer Rama Pattnaik, Women Empowerment Coordinator Sarita Rani Pani, Financial Literacy Expert Sasmita Patra, Gender Sensitization Expert Preeti Kumari Bag, officials of Shakti Sadan Centre, Ranjita Sahu from the One Stop Centre, and advocate Kishori Pattnaik, among others, attended the programme.
The speakers urged society to firmly address the challenges faced by women, especially adolescent girls, and encouraged them to move forward confidently. Discussions were also held on safeguarding their human rights and ensuring that all girl children receive equal access to education.
