Nabarangpur, 8th Nov 2025:  An awareness meeting was organized by Nari Shakti, a leading women’s organization in the district, at Behera Guda village. On this occasion, winter clothes and garments were distributed to women, children, and other needy individuals.

The awareness program focused on the eradication of child marriage, prevention of drug and alcohol abuse, and the importance of education for all. During the event, mothers, sisters, and children present were informed about the various harmful effects of child marriage. Parents were advised to ensure that their daughters are married only after reaching the legally permissible age.

The speakers also highlighted the dangers of consuming alcohol, tobacco, and other intoxicants, urging family members—especially elders—to stay away from such habits for the betterment of their households. It was emphasized that education is the foundation of a better life for everyone, and therefore, all children should be enrolled in school and encouraged to pursue their studies sincerely.

Among those present at the event were Manorama Majhi (Treasurer), Swarnalata Pattnaik (President), Sofia Begum (Vice-President), Ram Prasad Patra (Legal Advisor), Sama Ahmad (Joint Secretary), Durga Prasad Padhi, Babita Sahu, and Sakila Begum. They addressed the gathering and shared messages promoting social awareness and empowerment.
