Tentulikhunti: Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi conducted a review meeting at the Pujariguda Panchayat office under Tentuligundi Block. The meeting was attended by BDO Kapildev Sahu, Pujariguda Sarpanch Anadi Majhi, and other departmental officials. The MP emphasized that integrated efforts from all departments are crucial for the development of the block. He advised all officials to be responsible and proactive in ensuring the welfare of the people.

During the meeting, MP Majhi reviewed housing schemes and expressed dissatisfaction over the slow progress of toilet construction under the Swachh Bharat Mission. He also addressed issues related to irrigation, where out of 14 applicants, only 4 received approvals. He stressed the importance of Aadhaar card corrections and renewals and raised concerns over why local fish farming was not happening despite the presence of the massive Indravati Reservoir, leading to fish imports from Andhra Pradesh.

Due to the absence of BDO Sunil Khura, the review meeting at Nandahandi Block’s Habradongar Panchayat office could not take place. However, MP Majhi visited the location and interacted with Zilla Parishad member Arun Mishra, Samiti member Abhimanyu Nayak, Sarpanch Gunamachi Saura, and other officials. Discussions were held on preparing a detailed report on fisheries development, and Narayan Patra proposed constructing fish ponds in areas where soil had been excavated for river embankment work.

MP’s Visit to Changarbheja Panchayat

MP Majhi later visited Changarbheja Panchayat but was displeased as neither the contractor nor the engineers were present at the bus stand construction site, where a ₹9 crore project was underway. He emphasized identifying and assisting the poor with pensions, housing, cooking gas under Ujjwala Yojana, and clean drinking water facilities. Officials were also directed to monitor the martyr Madho Singh memorial site and ensure proper school infrastructure in the district.

MP’s Review Meeting at Tentulikunti

During the Tentulikunti review meeting, MP Majhi advised officials to empower women and children, identify SHGs (Self-Help Groups) for the Lakhpati Didi program, and promote Atal Pension Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. He also directed electricity officials to stop unauthorized power cuts and instructed additional tehsildar Simanchal Patra to allocate government land for housing the landless.

Before the meeting, the MP visited the Eklavya Model Residential School construction site and expressed displeasure over delays. He also inspected the Mera Lift Irrigation Project at Hepaguda, discussing its progress with engineers. At Lamataguda, he visited a drinking water supply project, expressing concern over the delayed completion despite surpassing the project deadline.
