Bhubaneswar, 13th Aug 2025: The quality of school uniforms distributed to students will be inspected. It will be ensured that only garments of good quality are supplied. The stitching of the uniforms must also be done properly. If there is any negligence in these matters, strict action will be taken.
The letter states that the government provides free uniforms to students from Class 1 to Class 10. All schools receive the uniforms through SHG (Self-Help Groups) and MSME units. However, the quality of uniforms supplied by various agencies will be verified.
If the quality of the fabric is poor — immediate strict action
The SHG or MSME unit supplying such uniforms will be blacklisted. Strict action will also be taken against them. In the future, such agencies will be barred from supplying uniforms. In this regard, the Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) has sent letters to all District Collectors.
As per OSEPA’s instructions, the inspection will be carried out by the school headmasters, CRCCs, block education officers, and district education officers. The quality of the fabric used in making the uniforms will be verified. Not only uniforms, but also supplied items like house uniforms, shoes, caps, and other accessories will be inspected. District Collectors have been directed by OSEPA to ensure that education officers conduct these inspections.
