Delhi, 24th July 2025: The Asia Cup 2025 cricket tournament is facing uncertainty, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may consider boycotting the event.
The conflict arises from the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) annual meeting, which is scheduled to take place on July 24 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. However, due to the prevailing situation in Dhaka, the BCCI has declined to attend the meeting there and has repeatedly requested a change in venue.
Despite multiple appeals from the BCCI, the ACC has not agreed to shift the meeting location. In response, the BCCI has taken a firm stance and may not participate in the meeting if the venue is not changed.
Notably, India is set to host the Asia Cup 2025, making this development even more significant. So far, ACC President Mohsin Naqvi has not issued any public statement on the matter.
This standoff could potentially escalate into a major issue, with India possibly pulling out of the Asia Cup if their concerns are not addressed, casting a shadow over the tournament’s future.
