Nabarangpur : On Tuesday, a grand celebration of Ma Pendrani Thakurani Yatra was held at Sarkshaguda village under Koilari Gram Panchayat in Dabugam block, Nabarangpur district. On this occasion, the symbol of the local village deity, the staff, was taken on a procession through Kurji village and finally reached Ma Pendrani Thakurani’s place, where worship was conducted by priest Jagadish Pujari. The priests and devotees were present and completed the rituals.
During the yatra, a large crowd of shopkeepers and devotees gathered, showing deep faith and devotion. For the devotees’ entertainment in the evening, a drama titled “Beimaani Jhiaku Bharasa Nahi” (Don’t Trust the Dishonest Girl) was performed by Saraj Guru from Podapada village under Borigumma block of Koraput district.
The event was graced by the presence of popular Dabugam MLA Manohar Randhari, MLA representative M. Bulu Rao, and other dignitaries.
The yatra committee included Kapur Chandra Majhi, Laiban Bhatra, Chaitanya Bhatra, Chandra Pujari, Kailash Majhi, Sada Bhatra, Kamala Bhatra, Abhimanyu Bhatra, Narahari Pujari, Sankhadha Bhatra, Narsingh Bhatra, Gurubaru Bhatra, Padmasaye Bhatra, Bhalasu Goud, and other respected villagers, who together made the yatra a very beautiful event.
