Kolnara, 27th Sept 2025: A meeting of the Odisha State ASHA Workers’ Union, operated under the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), was held at the Community Health Center hall in Kolnara. The event was conducted under the leadership of Kolnara Block Secretary Subasina Piripaka, with the coordination of District Secretary Geetanjali Dial and Treasurer Pushpanjali Behura.
Special guests at the meeting included:
- Jogeshwar Das, State Vice President of BMS
- Arun Kumar Lenka, State Executive Member
- Ganesh Kumar Sahu, District Secretary
- Mamta Bishwal, State Vice-President of the ASHA Workers’ Union
- Anand Rao, from the Electricity Employees’ Union
- Sundar Rao Kaduka, from the Agricultural Rural Labour Union
- Ramesh Himirika, Coordinator of the Environment Forum
The attendees discussed the long-standing demands of ASHA workers. It was resolved to press the state government to address these demands and ensure the provision of all entitled benefits to ASHA workers. It was also decided to engage in dialogue with the district administration regarding these matters.
On this occasion, new office bearers for the Kolnara Block were elected:
- Subasina Piripaka – President
- Binojina Pradhani, Sabitri Piripaka, Prashanti Jatraka, Sudheshtha Mandangi – Vice Presidents
- Palanga Pidisika – Secretary
- Hirmani Huuka – Joint Secretary
- Enka Jandagari – Organizational Secretary
- Adimai Himirika – Treasurer
- All ASHA workers from Kolnara block were present at the meeting.
