Jeypore, 21st Aug 2025: A four-member delegation from Balarpur Industry Employees’ Association submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister at the Koraput Circuit House on Sunday evening, demanding the revival of the paper mill along with seven other requests. The discussion included issues that have persisted since 2017 and actions taken during previous governments regarding the revival of the mill.
The delegation discussed measures for making the paper mill fully operational at the earliest, including regular salaries, payment of pending wages, settlement of dues for retired employees, and pension arrangements.
During the general meeting in Jaypur on Sunday, Chief Minister Mr. Majhi assured that steps would be taken to restart the paper mill. The meeting was attended by Minister of Mines & Steel Bibhutibhushan Jena, Minister of Fisheries & Animal Resources Gokulananda Mallik, Koraput MLA Raghuram Padal, and senior district members of the Vishwabhindu Parishad Sudhanshu Shekhar Jena.
The memorandum was handed over and discussed in the presence of the association’s working president Bansidhar Mahakud, general editor Saroj Suar, and Kedar Nath Mahapatra.
