Malkangiri: In the Odisha Higher Secondary Education Council’s combined 9th Arts examination results, Balimela College of Science and Technology in Malkangiri district has performed exceptionally well. According to the information, Anushri Sardar, a student of Balimela College of Science and Technology (I.Sc), scored 485 marks out of a total of 600 in two subjects, achieving 80.8% and becoming the district topper.
In Malkangiri district, a total of 3,858 students appeared for the combined two-subject examination, out of which 186 secured first place, 403 second place, and 2,371 passed in the third division. While two boys topped in science and commerce streams, Anushri Sardar topped in the arts stream at the district level.
Anushri comes from a humble farming family, and she has credited her success primarily to her father, Amal Sardar, and her mother. Amal Sardar is known for never neglecting the education of his children despite being a simple farmer. Anushri said, “I am doing whatever I can do with the support I have.” She also expressed her gratitude towards all her teachers and staff at the college, saying, “Without the support of my friends and everyone, nothing would have been possible. I thank them all.”
She specially thanked Purushottam Samarth, a political science teacher, for his guidance, saying, “Because of his support, I have achieved success today.”
When asked about her future plans, Anushri said she aims to become a good teacher. She hopes to provide quality education to poor children like herself and help shape them into good human beings.
