Jeypore, 29th Oct 2025: The villagers of Anta Gram Panchayat under Jeypore block, Koraput district, have submitted a petition to the District Collector seeking better management of the local rice market.

The petition highlights that farmers face many difficulties while selling their rice at the market. They often have to pay excessive fees for transporting their rice and may need to visit the RMC (Rice Mill/Market Committee) office or the Sub-Collector’s office in Jeypore multiple times over 5–6 days.

Anta Gram Panchayat consists of 27 villages and 16 wards. The petition emphasizes that farmers are struggling due to these inefficiencies and requests that the government ensure proper arrangements for the rice market this year, similar to what has been implemented in other panchayats.

The villagers hope that this will make it easier for farmers to sell their paddy without unnecessary delays or extra expenses.
