Balimela, Jan, 19: Today, the 40th Annual Sports Festival of Balimela Science and Technology College was successfully concluded. The Principal, lecturers, lady lecturers, and a large number of students of the college participated in the event.
The chief guest of today’s programme was Shri Pradeep Nayak, Chairman of the Balimela Notified Area Council, who addressed the students about the great importance and objectives of sports.
The Principal of the college, Shri Subash Chandra Majhi, spoke about the role of sports in national development. Lecturer Purushottam Samarth attended as the guest of honour and highlighted the necessity of sports for maintaining good health.
Shri Sunil B. Pujari bore the main responsibility for the overall management of the annual sports festival.
Various sports competitions had been organised from 11 December 2025. The winners of these competitions were awarded prizes and honoured during the concluding ceremony.
In the speech competition, Rinki Madkami, a +3 (degree) student, and in the +2 (Class 12) category, Mukund Padiami and Ankita Salbam were honoured as the best competitors.
The sports events were conducted smoothly under the supervision and cooperation of Mano Ranjan Khamari, Chandrasekhar Madhi, Tapan Karjee, and other lecturers. At the end, Suraj Kumar Jena delivered the vote of thanks.
