Malkangiri ,Jan 27: The 16th Annual Function of Darwin Memorial Degree College, Kudumulugumma, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and grandeur.
The function was presided over by the Principal of the college, Ashok Kumar Pradhan. The Vice-Chancellor of Vikram Dev University, Jeypore, Professor Dr. Devi Prasad Mishra, attended as the Chief Guest. Assistant Professor of Vikram Dev University, Dr. Manoranjan Pradhan, joined as the Chief Speaker. Kudumulugumma Tehsildar Krishna Chandra Das, Assistant Collector Ajay Kumar Mandangi from the Sub-Collector’s office, and Principal of Darwin Memorial Higher Secondary School, Gauri Shankar Behera, attended as distinguished guests.
At the outset, the guests inaugurated the programme by offering prayers with lamps, incense, and flowers before the idol of Lord Jagannath. This was followed by a welcome song presented by the college students in honour of the guests.
Principal Ashok Kumar Pradhan presented the annual report, highlighting the achievements and challenges of the college. The guests addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of cooperation over unhealthy competition, self-reliance, and the practical use of indigenous and local products. They noted that such programmes help nurture curiosity among students and promote unity and closer bonds among them.
Meritorious students of the college were felicitated and awarded by the guests. The event concluded with a variety of cultural performances presented by the students.
Lecturer Biswajit Mohanty conducted the proceedings of the programme. All faculty members, staff, and students of the college extended their full cooperation in making the event a success.
