Salepur, 22nd July 2025: According to reports, six rare idols of deities have been unearthed from beneath the ground at the house of a resident in Kusumbi village, under Salepur block of Cuttack district. Among the recovered idols are those of Hanuman, Kali, Durga, Radha-Krishna, and Lakshmi-Narayan.
The discovery was made while the resident was digging for renovation work. As soon as the idols were found, news spread rapidly through the village, and locals gathered at the site to witness the rare event. Many expressed deep religious sentiments and called the incident a divine sign.
Local administration and archaeology officials have been informed and are expected to examine the idols to determine their historical significance. Meanwhile, villagers have begun offering prayers at the spot, turning it into a temporary place of worship.
