Chikiti: All the members and participants of the spiritual journey organized by the Adishakti Trust had the opportunity to reach the Ma’ Balakumari temple, located on the Kerandimala Hill in Chikiti. This temple is 37 kilometers away from Berhampur and 9 kilometers from Chikiti.

According to the chief priest, the temple of Ma’ Balakumari is dedicated to the Goddess of Chikiti Raja’s family. The Raja, around 10 years old, once visited the temple as a child, and since then, the name Ma’ Balakumari has been given to the deity. The temple, surrounded by a unique natural environment, is very attractive.

According to the local legends and the chief priest, Kedara Gouri Gauli, “Devotees tie their hair knots and bangles to the tree nearby, seeking mental peace. It is believed that the blessings of Ma’ bring mental fulfillment.” After receiving mental peace, devotees visit the temple to offer their prayers.

The temple also has a shrine to Ma’ Dakshina Kali, and visitors can see the Ganesh Temple and a large Shiva statue. The temple complex is surrounded by a serene, beautiful environment, which makes it an ideal place to visit. The area is well-connected with good roads, making it easily accessible.

The temple serves as a spiritual center for many, and it also features a prasadam distribution system, reachable through a contact number for inquiries. The main priest, Kedara Gouri Raoul, can be contacted for further details.
