Baipariguda, Jan 30: An inauguration ceremony was held for the newly constructed Amenity Centre and separate Bar Hall within the District Court Complex at Jeypore in Koraput district.
On the occasion, the two visiting judges offered prayers at the प्रसिद्ध Shaivite shrine Gupteswar in southern Odisha. They were warmly welcomed by members of the Baipariguda Bar Association. State law officers P. Ramesh Patra, Gaur Patra, Rajesh Mahugiya, Biswajit Nayak, and Dilip Mohanty extended their greetings.
Hon’ble Justice Harish Tandon of the Orissa High Court attended the programme as the Chief Guest and formally inaugurated the facilities. Hon’ble Justice Chittaranjan Dash of the Orissa High Court joined as the Guest of Honour. Both High Court judges were accorded a grand welcome by the Koraput District Bar Association.
Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Chief Justice expressed his affection for the Odia language. In his speech, he emphasized that the court is dedicated to serving the common people and ensuring justice at every level without delay. He urged young lawyers not to neglect their responsibilities and to maintain cordial relationships among members of the Bar. He also highlighted the crucial role of advocates and judicial officers in maintaining public trust in the judiciary.
He thanked the Koraput District Bar Association for inviting him to the programme. The newly inaugurated Bar Hall includes facilities such as an ATM, canteen, post office, and first-aid services for the convenience of the public. District Bar Association President Soral Das stated that these arrangements have been made to provide quicker legal assistance, especially to people from tribal and remote areas of the undivided Koraput district.
During the event, several senior lawyers of the district were felicitated by the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present included officials from the Orissa High Court, members of the legal fraternity, and all members of the District Bar Association.
