A slight lapse in attention can make you an easy target for fraudsters who may trick you with counterfeit notes. Recently, a significant number of fake notes have been found circulating in the city. Fraudsters are deceiving unsuspecting people by handing them counterfeit currency.
For a small business owner, receiving a fake Rs500 note can feel like losing an entire day’s earnings. A recent incident occurred at a xerox shop near Rajnagar Chowk, where a woman running the shop to make a modest daily income was tricked. While doing her regular business, someone handed her a counterfeit Rs500 note and left.
Instead of reporting the fraud to the police, the victim is now worried about how to pass the counterfeit note on to someone else to avoid personal loss.
Additionally, there was a recent complaint about fake Rs500 notes being dispensed from an ATM.
Given these situations, the public is urged to be extra cautious while handling cash. There’s also a growing demand for the police to take
