16th July 2025, Balasore: Soumyashree Bishi, a student of Fakir Mohan College in Balasore, who had attempted self-immolation in protest over alleged injustice, succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at AIIMS. A formal announcement regarding her death was made by the hospital authorities.
