Nabarangpur: Under the Central Government’s ADIP (Assistance to Disabled Persons) Scheme, assistive devices were distributed to differently-abled individuals in the Dabugam block. The event was organized by the District Social Security and Differently-abled Empowerment Department. The program was attended by the Minister of School and Mass Education, Nityananda Gond, as the chief guest. Other dignitaries present included Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi, Dabugam MLA Monohar Randhari, Block Chairperson Beena Majhi, BJP District President Kunj Bihari Dash, District Council Member Gupta Bisho, District Social Security Officer Sudhanshu Patra, and District Mangal Officer Palka Rabindra Pramukh.
The goal of the central government’s scheme is to integrate differently-abled persons into the mainstream and encourage self-reliance. During the event, various assistive devices were distributed to identified differently-abled individuals of the Dabugam block. These included 15 tri-cycles, 22 hearing aids, 20 Asha bodies, 4 electronic tri-cycles, 5 wheelchairs, 4 smartphones, and 2 CP chairs.
The entire program was coordinated by the Block Social Security Officer, Yatin Panigrahi. Among the other attendees were Dabugam Video Sharat Majhi, ABDO Padmanabh Tripathy, GPO Padmanabh Bhalla, DW & Aditya Narayan Rath, BJP Dabugam Mandal President Manoj Patra, Somnath Pujari, senior BJP leader J. Raj Shekhar Rao, Manorama Nayak, Naresh Singh, Nur Singh, Ratan Kalar, and many others.
