Tikabali: In response to the alarming rise in crimes such as sexual assault and murders across Odisha, including the concerning number of missing women reported in recent years, the Indian National Congress has taken a serious step. With the directive of Rahul Gandhi, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has appointed a fact-finding team to tour various districts of Odisha, gather data, and submit a detailed report.
As part of this initiative, the AICC fact-finding team today visited the family of Rinu Mahapatra in Tikabali, Kandhamal district, to gather information regarding the widely discussed murder case that occurred in March. The team members interacted closely with her family to understand the situation and collect facts.
The central team comprised AICC representatives including Deepa Dasmunshi, MP Ranjeet Ranjan, MP Praniti Shinde, MP S. Jothimani, and Shobha Oza. The team also visited Phulbani, where they met with the District Collector and the Superintendent of Police.
During the visit, other Congress leaders present included Ramesh Jena (MLA from Sanakhemundi, Ganjam district), Kandhamal District Congress President Chandra Shekhar Parida, G. Udayagiri MLA Prafulla Chandra Pradhan, former District President Anam Nayak, State Rajiv Gandhi Coordinator Pratap Pradhan, and former Youth Congress President Prabhat Behera.
