New Delhi, 11th Nov 2025: Artificial Intelligence (AI) will soon be introduced as a part of the curriculum from Class III onwards in all schools across the country. To implement this, learning materials, handbooks, and digital resources will be developed by December this year.
The Department of School Education and Literacy under the Union Ministry of Education has taken this decision to promote future-oriented education based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computational Thinking.
Through a broad consultation process, the department is assisting states and union territories, as well as national educational bodies like CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training), Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), in developing a comprehensive and inclusive curriculum under the framework of the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023.
This move aims to prepare students from an early age to understand and apply AI concepts, fostering analytical, creative, and problem-solving skills essential for the future.
