Nabarangpur, Jan, 16:  The Regional Agricultural Machinery Fair for the year 2025–26 has been inaugurated at the New Mandi Ground in Nabarangpur and will continue until January .

The event was held under the chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain. The chief guest was Rajya Sabha MP Mujibulla Khan, while Nabarangpur MLA Gaurishankar Majhi attended as a special guest. Additional District Magistrate (Revenue) Biswajit Barman, Chief Engineer, Agriculture Department Bishnu Prasad Mishra, DGM, Odisha Agro Industries Corporation Lalit Mohan Jena, and Lok Sabha MP’s representative Jyoti Ranjan Kans were also present.

The guests first visited all the stalls set up at the fair. The event began with a welcome address by Chief District Agriculture Officer Sudhir Ranjan Behera.

District-level officers from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Horticulture Departments, around 1,000 farmers from all blocks of the district, and representatives of the media were present.

A total of 115 stalls have been set up at the fair, including those of various agricultural machinery manufacturers and dealers, as well as food stalls.
Various companies showcased tractors, rotavators, combine harvesters, paddy threshers, pump sets, drones, solar pumps, power tillers, garden tools, and other modern farm equipment. Farmers were also informed about different government schemes.

The fair is aimed at creating awareness about government financial assistance, subsidies, concessional purchase of farm machinery, bank loan facilities, modern agricultural technologies and their use, as well as educating farmers through Farmer Schools.

On this occasion, 10 farmers were provided with new tractors with subsidy support.
The guests encouraged farmers to improve their income by using modern farm machinery and to visit all the stalls and apply online for subsidies.
At the end of the program, District Agriculture Officer Anil Praharaj proposed a vote of thanks.
