Umerkote The Umerkote Bar Association organized Advocate Day and the birth anniversary celebration of Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das. The event took place in the premises of the Sub-Judge Court in Umerkote. Hon’ble Justice Shib Shankar Mishra of the Orissa High Court attended as the chief guest. State Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond also graced the occasion as a distinguished guest and paid homage to Madhubabu’s memory.
Madhubabu was not only a self-respecting lawyer but also an eminent political thinker. His significant role in the formation of Odisha as a separate province remains unforgettable for the people of Odisha. In honor of his unparalleled contribution to the legal world of Odisha, his birth anniversary is celebrated annually as Advocate Day. On this solemn occasion, the Bar Association offered floral tributes.
Present at the event were the First Class Judicial Magistrate, Sub-Judge, Additional District Judge, among other dignitaries. The event was hosted by the President of the Bar Association, Prashant Kumar Sahu. Senior advocates including Jhadeswar Mohanty, Tapan Debnath, Shrinibas Pattnaik, Nayak, Manohar Mohanty, Balakrishna Patra, Sujit Kumar Pattnaik, Sushil Barman, Haren Singh Rajput, and Manoj Mahapatra participated and extended their support.
The Secretary of the Bar Association, Shantanu Kumar Bahinipati, offered a vote of thanks. The program also observed one minute of silence in memory of those killed in a terrorist shooting in Pahelgaon.
