Raighar, 3rd Sept 2025: Debashish Gand, son of Sukalu Gand from Odandi village under Kacharpara Panchayat in Raighar block of Nabarangpur district, has cleared the NEET examination and secured an opportunity to study medicine. Being a member of the tribal community, this achievement has sparked waves of joy in the village.
Since childhood, Debashish loved studying. After completing his 12th with science subjects, he passed the NEET exam and has enrolled at Shaheed Laxman Nayak Medical College in Koraput. His teacher, Anil Kumar Suna, who has been a great support, shared this news.
Debashish spent his student life in rural areas. He completed his 10th grade with 92% marks from Kalinga Adarsha Residential School, which is managed by the Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Department in Umarkot. After that, he enrolled in an 11th and 12th model residential school in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, where he completed his higher secondary in science.
Behind Debashish’s success lies the significant contribution of his teacher Anil Kumar Suna, who motivated and inspired him to move forward in his efforts. With his dedication and cooperation, Debashish is on his way to becoming a doctor.
