ABVP Holds Press Conference in Koraput to Launch Membership Drive

Jeypore: A press conference was organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) at Gurukul Play School in Koraput district with the goal of strengthening the organization by enrolling 14,000 new members. The ABVP aims to field its candidates in student union elections to be held soon in six educational institutions and secure victories.

Notably, while the organization had previously opposed the discontinuation of student union elections, it has now expressed its support for the government’s recent decision to resume them.

Present at today’s press conference were Jayashree Behera, Vice President of DAV College; Raja Panda, District Coordinator; Pratyush Ranjan Dani, State AFD Coordinator; and Dibyajyoti Nanda, Head of Sports for Odisha Paschim Prant Bharata.

According to the information provided, for the academic year 2025–26, the Odisha Paschim Prant unit of ABVP aims to enroll 1.4 lakh members across 14 organizational districts. It was also announced that in the current academic year, the organization plans to contest elections in 331 colleges and 8 universities within Odisha Paschim Prant.
