Hinjilicut, 13th Sept 2025: Farmers across the revenue villages of Hinjilicut block and municipality area are facing a severe shortage of urea fertilizer. The quantity of urea being provided to Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS) by the state government is reportedly grossly inadequate, failing to meet the demands of local farmers.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) criticized the state government, stating that even during the tenure of the so-called “double-engine government,” the fertilizer crisis remained unresolved. Farmers are now wandering helplessly from one cooperative society to another, only to return empty-handed — not even the lowest quantity of fertilizer is available, let alone adequate stock.
Due to this persistent scarcity, the kharif paddy crops are deteriorating day by day. Adding to their woes, some unscrupulous traders are allegedly hoarding and selling fertilizers in the black market using illicit means.
AAP Demands Urgent Fertilizer Distribution through Cooperative Societies
Given the dire situation, the Aam Aadmi Party has demanded that the state government immediately ensure fertilizer supply to farmers through local cooperative societies during this emergency. The party warned that if the fertilizer crisis is not resolved at the earliest, mass protests will be launched in the coming days.
