Kolonara: Eight Anganwadi centres in Kolonara block are in a hazardous condition. Although the CDPO (Child Development Project Officer) had informed both block and district administration for repair work, no effective measures have been taken so far.
In the block, Anganwadi centres located at Therubali, Dipikamp of Therubali, Pipilisahi of Lonara-9, Goud Lelibadi, Burjuguda of Therubali, Sundaramati, Bada Champia, and Karubai are all in unsafe condition. Due to lack of repairs, there is a high possibility that these centres may collapse, prompting the CDPO to write and inform the district-level officers over a year ago.
Anganwadi centres are crucial for providing early childhood education, health check-ups for pregnant and lactating women, immunizations, and distribution of nutritional food like fortified meals, eggs, and laddus. With regular observance of Mamata Week and pre-schooling activities every month, the urgent repair of these dilapidated Anganwadi centres has become essential.
