Kotpad , 18th Aug 2025: 79th Independence Day was celebrated at Gandhi Chhak, Kotpad, under the chairmanship of Independence Day Committee President Tidul Sethi.
In this flag-hoisting ceremony, the chief guest, local MLA Rupug Bhattarai, hoisted the National Flag. The stage was conducted by Committee Secretary Dr. Ganesh Chandra Panda.
At the beginning of the program, floral tributes were offered to the statue of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, by Committee President Tidul Sethi, Chief Guest and MLA Rupu Bhattarai, Kotpad NAC Chairperson M. Shankar Rao, former Minister Padmini Dian, former MLA Chandra Sekhar Majhi, Congress candidate Anam Dian, EO Kamalesh Mohanty, BDO Sandhya Rani Samartha, Zilla Parishad Vice-Chairperson M. Santoshi, Block Chairperson Kamala Bhattarai, and Vice-Chairperson Tapan Panigrahi.
Specially present on the occasion were representatives of the local MP and MLA, all ward members of the NAC, employees of various offices, political workers of different parties from the Kotpad region, teachers of schools and colleges, as well as students from all government and private institutions.
The program concluded with the National Anthem and the Independence Day celebration was observed with great honor and enthusiasm.
