Kalahandi: 6th Nov 2025: Marks the 76th year of Kalahandi district formation. The day was celebrated as a festival across various blocks with cultural programs. In front of the District Collector’s office, several cultural activities such as skits, painting, girls’ handicrafts, and other programs were organized. Many students and artists from the district participated.
Additionally, a torch procession was organized from Maa Manikeshwari Temple, where the District Collector participated and installed the torch at the Town Hall. Following this, cultural programs were conducted at the Town Hall by the District Administration and District Cultural Department.
At the Kalahandi District Formation Day celebration, the Chief Guest was District Collector Sachin Pawar, and the key speaker was Nivedita Nath, Vice-Chancellor of Maa Manikeshwari Vishwavidyalaya, who was honored as a special guest. She praised Kalahandi’s art and culture and noted that the district is moving forward day by day in terms of development. She highlighted that despite challenges such as poverty and geography, Kalahandi has transformed significantly over time.
She stated that today the district has made progress in roads, education, health, and all other sectors, but to build Kalahandi into a truly developed district, the cooperation of everyone is essential.
