Bhubaneswar,20th Nov 2025: The Capital Book Fair will once again bring together readers, authors, and publishers on a single platform. Visitors will get the opportunity to browse, explore, and purchase books, while also listening to renowned literary personalities and writers. Preparations for the fair are in their final stages, and it will officially begin on November 14.
This year marks the 25th Capital Book Fair, which will be held from November 14 to 23 for 10 days at the Sahid Nagar Durga Puja Ground. During the fair, various events such as discussion forums, poetry recitals, new book releases, poet–writer conventions, humorous poetry meets, and children’s literary programs will be organised.
Capital Book Fair Awards will be presented for the best books published in the last three years across 12 categories of Odia literature.
Leading publishers from Odisha, including Friends Publishers, Vidyapuri, Odisha Book Store, Prachi Publications, Cuttack Students’ Store, Satyanarayan Books, Jagannath Rath, Dharmagrantha Store, A.K. Mishra Agency, will participate along with prominent publishers from outside the state such as Gita Press, Kalyani Publishers, National Book Trust, Publications Division, Ostrich, Motilal Banarsi Das, Shubhi Publications, Ascent, and others.
This year, around 300 stalls have been planned for the fair. Books in various languages—literature, religious texts, reference books, as well as school and college textbooks and guides for competitive examinations—will be available.
These details were shared during a preparatory meeting held under the chairmanship of Dr. Upendra Kumar Jena, President of the Capital Book Fair Committee. Editor Bidhu Bhusan Pattnayak, Convener Ramesh Kamalinas Swaim, Beer Kishore Pradhan, Mallik, Dr. Pitabas Routaray, Editor Bhaskar Jena, and various publishers and booksellers, including representatives from NCERT, were present.
