Kendujhar,27th Sept 2025: Kendujhar district, known as a mining area, contributes a significant portion of mining revenue to the state treasury. Following the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Mining Sector Welfare Scheme (PMKKY), a rule mandates the formation of a district mining trust to promote development in mining-affected areas. Consequently, a list of mining-affected areas in Kendujhar district has been published.
For the past few years, since there was no local representation from the mining area, the Ghassipura and Patna MLAs were not members of the trust board. However, due to changes in the boundaries, these two MLAs will now participate in the trust board meeting scheduled for September 13 to express their views.
