Bhubaneswar, 10th Nov 2025: For this year’s Baliyatra procession, a large boita (traditional boat) will be built on a big Eicher truck. The boat will be 22 feet long and 12 feet high. According to the artisans, work on the structure will begin tomorrow.
The Baliyatra gate, designed in the shape of a boita, will be made using materials such as plywood, cloth, plastic flowers, pipes, and different types of paint. The district administration has estimated an expenditure of ₹7 lakh for this project.
The construction will be carried out by six artisans from Bibhuti Kanungo College of Art in Bhubaneswar. The artisans have said it will take 4 to 6 days to complete the work.
Once ready, the procession vehicle will travel to various locations to promote the historic Baliyatra festival.
