Nabarangpur, 21st Nov 2025:  For the welfare of farmers across the country, the 21st instalment under the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s PM-Kisan scheme for the year 2025–26 was successfully organized at the Mission Shakti Conference Hall in Nabarangpur and at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Umerkote.

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the nationwide programme through a live virtual broadcast from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. In Nabarangpur, Hon’ble MLA Gauri Shankar Majhi and Additional District Magistrate (General) Tapan Kumar Khuntia attended as chief guests and formally inaugurated the event. They extended greetings to the farmers and highlighted that the PM-Kisan scheme plays a vital role in strengthening the economic condition of farmers.

A total of 100 farmers from Nabarangpur, Nandahandi, and Tentulikhunti blocks participated in the programme. Similarly, at the PM-Kisan live broadcast event held at the Umerkote KVK, Hon’ble Member of Parliament Balabhadra Majhi attended as chief guest and stated that this financial assistance would significantly contribute to agricultural development. Along with the MP, Kunj Bihari Das, Smt. Basanti Majhi, Ram Nayak, and agricultural officers were also present.

A total amount of ₹20 crore 81 lakh 86 thousand has been transferred today to the bank accounts of 1,04,093 farmers in the district, with each farmer receiving ₹2,000. With this financial assistance, farmers of the district are expected to engage in agricultural activities with renewed enthusiasm, hope, and motivation for a better agricultural future.

At the Mission Shakti Conference Hall event, DIPRO Manoj Behera, Jalchhaya Project Director Chintamani Behera, all Block Agriculture Officers, Assistant Agriculture Officers, and staff from the Agriculture Department were in attendance.
