Nabarangpur, Nov 22 : Under the Prime Minister’s ‘PM-KISAN’ scheme aimed at the welfare of farmers across the country, the programme for disbursing the 21st instalment for the year 2025–26 was successfully organised at the Mission Shakti Conference Hall in Nabarangpur and at the Umerkote Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK).

At the Umerkote KVK, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Balabhadra Majhi attended the PM-KISAN live telecast event as the chief guest. He stated that the financial assistance provided under this scheme would surely help in the development of agriculture. Along with the MP, Kunj Bihari Das, Basanti Majhi, Ram Nayak and other dignitaries were present.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through a virtual live telecast from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, inaugurated the nationwide instalment release event.

At the Nabarangpur venue, MLA Gauri Shankar Majhi and Additional District Magistrate (General) Tapan Kumar Khuntia attended as chief guests and formally launched the district-level programme. They conveyed their best wishes to the farmers and mentioned that the PM-KISAN scheme is playing a significant role in strengthening the financial condition of farmers.

A total of 100 farmers from Nabarangpur, Nandahandi, and Tentulikhunti blocks took part in the event. Farmers and agricultural officers were present in large numbers.

In Nabarangpur district, assistance amounting to ₹2,000 each was transferred to the bank accounts of 1,04,093 farmers, totaling ₹20 crore 81 lakh 86 thousand.

It was expressed that this financial support will motivate the farmers of the district to take up agricultural activities with renewed enthusiasm, hope, and confidence for a brighter future.

At the Mission Shakti Conference Hall live programme, DIPRO Manoj Behera, Jalchhaya Project Director Chintamani Behera, all Block Agriculture Officers, Assistant Agriculture Officers, and staff of the Agriculture Department were present.
