Kotpad, Jan 29: Under the leadership of ACF (Assistant Conservator of Forests) Amit Nayak of the Jeypore Forest Division, a bird census was conducted at Damayanti Sagar, Devan Munda, and several other ponds in the Kotpad area.
The weather conditions were favorable, making it suitable for the bird count. This year, a total of 20 species of birds were recorded. Among them, species such as the Lesser Whistling Duck, Common Moorhen, Purple Swamphen, Indian Cormorant, Indian Pond Heron, and Cattle Egret were seen in significant numbers.
During the bird census, Kotpad Forester Mihir Kumar Pradhan, Sudipta Nayak, along with forest guards and staff members, were present.
