Rasulpur, Jan, 01: The District-Level Children’s Science Exhibition Competition–2025 was held on the premises of Mugupal Government High School under Rasulpur block. More than 190 innovative projects were exhibited in the senior and junior categories.
The inaugural ceremony of the exhibition was held on Saturday morning. District Education Officer Maheswar Sahu presided over the function, while Lakshminarayan Kar, retired Principal of Upendranath Sharada College, inaugurated the exhibition.
Projects selected from more than 50 schools of the district in both categories were evaluated, and the best projects were chosen. Seven themes were identified, and outstanding young scientists were awarded. The projects were selected based on current issues and thematic relevance. Notably, projects focused on climate change, modern agriculture, renewable energy use, water and soil conservation, and the application of science for social welfare attracted special attention.
A jury committee comprising science teachers from various schools was formed to evaluate the projects.
During the valedictory ceremony held in the evening, Additional District Magistrate of Jajpur, Shivananda Swain, attended as the chief guest. The distinguished guests included Additional District Education Officer Sabita Sahu, Rasulpur Block Education Officer Sudarshan Mallik, and Additional Circle Education Officer Prabhanjan Pati, who felicitated the meritorious participants.
District Science Supervisor Kumarasen Senapati provided the introductory remarks, while Niranjan Samal, Headmaster of Odang High School, delivered the welcome address and introduced the guests.
On this occasion, the best participant from each theme was selected to represent the district at the state-level competition. The selected students were:

- Sujay Bal, OAV, Danagadi
- Pabaki Das, OAV, Rasulpur
- Smruti Sangeeta Behera, Krushnapada Upper Primary School, Rasulpur block
- Biswaranjan Mahapatra, Ambikadebi High School
- A student from Binjharpur (category mentioned)
- At the programme, Fatima Pirfos, a student of Darpangada High School, who had earlier
- chieved success at the state level and brought laurels to the district, was felicitated along with her guide teacher Vivekananda Swain.
- The successful organization of the event was supported by science teachers Bishnu Charan Sahu and Prakash Panda, Headmaster Manoranjan Biswal, CRCC Debaki Patra, Avinash Ach, and teachers from various schools.
- The Headmistress of Mugupal Government High School, Snehmayee Jena, delivered the vote of thanks.
