Jatni, Feb 17: On the occasion of the 18th Foundation Day of IIT Bhubaneswar, the institute is moving ahead with the goal of making India a semiconductor hub, informed Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling while attending the event as the chief guest.

He stated that projects including a semiconductor unit, SDM Park, Namo Semiconductor Laboratory, artificial intelligence facilities, and a data center project with an investment of ₹4,500 crore will strengthen innovation through industry–education collaboration and help achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Chairman of Pattnaik Group of Industries, Saroj Kumar Pattnaik, attended as the guest of honor. He advised students that they must decide their own future, as success does not come easily and requires continuous struggle and self-reflection.
On this occasion, he also provided financial assistance of ₹25 crore to IIT for the development of IT infrastructure.

At the beginning of the program, Director Sripad Karmalkar delivered the welcome address and highlighted the establishment and progress of the campus spread over 936 acres, along with its achievements in teaching, research, industry-oriented education, and entrepreneurship development.

Registrar Bamidev Acharya was present at the event. Dean (Student Affairs) Professor Rajesh Roshan Dash delivered the vote of thanks.
