Jeypore, 19th Nov 2025: On the instructions of the Odisha government’s Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, and Minority Welfare Department, Tribal Pride Day was organized at the Balya Ashram School, Jayapur Block, with the participation of parents and guardians.
The program focused on discussions about the students’ academic progress and the development of the school and hostel facilities. Awareness sessions were conducted on students’ nutrition and health, safety and security, and initiatives to encourage participation among the students. Cultural programs were also organized alongside a speech competition for parents.
The event, consisting of eight programs, was presided over by Headmistress Subhasini Dash. The chief guest was Shashibhushan Das, President of the Koraput District Branch of the Odisha State Unorganized Workers Coordination Committee, who guided the students and raised awareness among the parents.
Other honored guests included Saraswati Majhi, Panchayat Head of Balya, Sunadhar Gadba, Member of the School Committee, and Ballabh Pattnayak, DWO Head of Jayapur Block. Teachers involved in organizing the program included Bhavani Nayak, Rajani Dash, Snehanjali Rath, Dipti Mahanti, and assistant teacher P. Asha.
The program concluded with recognition of students’ achievements and efforts, and the Headmistress thanked all participants and closed the session.
