Narsinghpur: India’s leading mother-and-child healthcare chain, Ankura Hospital, in collaboration with OM Hospital, organized a free fertility health check-up camp and awareness workshop in Narsinghpur. The initiative aimed to educate and support couples who have been unable to conceive despite several years of marriage.
The session was led by Dr. Pragyan Dash, Senior Fertility Consultant, who provided guidance on modern reproductive treatments, including IUI, IVF, and other advanced medical interventions that can assist in achieving pregnancy.
Dr. Dash highlighted lifestyle-related challenges as a major factor behind rising infertility in both urban and rural India.
“Today’s sedentary lifestyle leading to weight gain, obesity, and associated disorders is contributing significantly to infertility,” she said. “Low sperm count in men, poor ovarian reserve in women, fallopian tube blockages, and hormonal imbalances are also key causes that prevent conception.”
She urged couples to seek timely medical advice from qualified specialists rather than depending for years on symptomatic medications that may not address the root cause.
The event was inaugurated by Sasmita Jena, Block Chairman, Narsinghpur, who appreciated Ankura Hospital’s efforts to bring fertility awareness to underserved areas.
“Many rural families are still unaware of the available fertility treatments. Workshops like this will greatly benefit couples struggling with infertility,” she said.
The programme was attended by Mamta Mohapatra, Managing Director of OM Hospital, along with Sandeep Pattnaik from Ankura Hospital, social worker Sanjay Nayak, and Rintu from OM Hospital, who coordinated the workshop.
