Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 28: The Centre for Structural Heart Diseases at KIMSHEALTH was inaugurated by actor Vineeth Radhakrishnan, with veteran actor Raghavan attending as the Special Guest. Marking the occasion a get-together of TAVI procedure beneficiaries was also organised, bringing together more than fifty beneficiaries.
The centre aims to address the rising incidence of structural heart diseases, particularly among elderly patients who may not be suitable candidates for open-heart surgery due to multiple co-morbidities. It will serve as a comprehensive facility providing expert evaluation, personalised treatment plans, optimised medical management, and timely minimally invasive interventions.
In his presidential address, Dr. M I Sahadulla, Chairman and Managing Director, KIMSHEALTH, said that advances in interventional cardiology have significantly transformed the management of structural heart disease, enabling many conditions to be treated without surgery. He added that the new centre reflects the commitment of KIMSHEALTH in providing cutting-edge cardiac care to patients belonging to all sections of society.
Inaugurating the centre, Vineeth Radhakrishnan lauded the initiative of KIMSHEALTH, in launching a dedicated centre for structural heart diseases and making world class cardiac care accessible to all. He further said that medical science has advanced at a remarkable pace and modern technology has played a vital role in accelerating that progress.
