Under this partnership, TERI and Innovations India will create a five‑film pentalogy focused on solar power, water conservation, clean energy, green mobility and climate change, with each film designed to simplify complex environmental challenges through engaging storytelling. Innovations India will lead production and collaborate with international studios to enable worldwide distribution, with screenings planned at the World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS), major Indian and international film festivals, and global sustainability forums and public‑awareness events.

The first film in the series is scheduled to premiere at WSDS 2026 in New Delhi, which attracts global leaders, diplomats, policymakers, industry heads and sustainability stakeholders. The films will feature popular Bollywood actors and award‑winning directors, combining mainstream cinematic appeal with TERI’s sustainability expertise to raise awareness about critical environmental issues.

Dr. Vibha Dhawan stated that the initiative reflects TERI’s commitment to engaging diverse audiences through creative mediums so that sustainability discussions move beyond academic and policy circles and reach wider society via the language of film. Captain Rahul Bali, known for projects such as Love in Vietnam and Silaa, highlighted cinema’s power to “educate through emotion” and described the five‑film pentalogy as a mission to inspire collective action on urgent environmental challenges.

The collaboration is being positioned as a milestone that fuses Bollywood’s creative influence with TERI’s subject‑matter leadership to produce impactful short films capable of shifting perspectives, sparking dialogue and motivating meaningful action on sustainability at national and global levels.
